Assets can be re-ordered within a group. This displayed order will then be reflected in the order that items are sent out of Asset Flow (and how they appear in bidlogix, for example). This document covers the following:

  • Group Position Numbers
  • Re-Order Assets in Asset List View
  • Re-Order Assets in Asset Group View
  • Drag and Drop
  • Send to Top or Bottom
  • Send to Position
  • How do Pages and Filters Affect Reordering?
  • Other Situations to Note
  • Lot Numbers in Bidlogix

Group Position Numbers

When you are in the Group view, assets will have an assigned group position number. This will assist with allocating the correct position for your assets and will update as you change the position of the asset within this list.

Please Note

Group position is NOT reflective of lot number.

How do Pages and Filters Affect Reordering?

You can alter the number of assets displayed on a page, but you may not be able to fit all your assets on one page.

If not all your assets are listed on one page, when you select Send to Top this will send the asset to the top of the list, not the top of the current page. Likewise, selecting Send to Bottom will send the asset to the bottom of the last page.

If you apply a filter such that only a portion of the assets are showing, using functions such as Send to Top will send the asset to the very top of the list, not just the filtered list.

Both of the above outcomes also apply when using Send To Position. For example, sending an asset to position 45 while the filtered view only shows 25 assets will send the asset to the bottom of the current list and to position 45 in the unfiltered list.

Other Situations to Note

If you send two ordered groups to the same auction, the dominant group order will prevail. (The dominant group is the group with most assets belonging to it). If there is no clear dominant group, the asset positions will be compared and the lowest position chosen for that asset. If the asset positions are the same as other assets, it will order alphabetically by title then refrerence ID.

If assets are sent from the asset list instead of filtering by group or sending from group view, then the assets will be sorted by title:

If, for example, you send the last 3 assets in a group, they will form the first 3 lots in bidlogix. If you then send the last 3 assets in a group, they will form the next 3 lots in bidlogix, and so on.

Lot Numbers in Bidlogix

When sending lots over to bidlogix, they will appear in the order you have specified using the above instructions. However, if there are already items in bidlogix the new lot numbers will begin after the existing lots, but still in the order specified.
